For years, Rohnert Park's summer calendar read like an appendix to Santa Rosa's and Sonoma's. Residents drove past the 101 exit as often as they used it, and the phrase "let's go out tonight" usually meant heading somewhere else. This summer is the first one in a long time where that instinct is worth breaking.
Two things happened within eight weeks of each other. A casino expansion opened on the west side of town with rooftop dining and a chef-led restaurant, and the Green Music Center announced a July-through-September concert lineup that turned the Sonoma State lawn into a Bay Area draw. Add a weekly farmers' market, a full slate in neighboring Cotati, and the everyday recreation infrastructure that residents already know, and the summer of 2026 finally has a shape you can plan a week around without leaving the ZIP code.
